RIFUGIO GARELLI - CHIUSA di PESIO
The Rifugio Garelli, near "Pian del Lupo" was inaugurated in 1950, a barrel-shaped moutain hut made out of a British Air Force (RAF), with 16 beds and a small kitchen. The refuge was dedicated to the lawyer Piero Garelli (1905-1945), president of the Mondovì Alpine Club and member of the Mondovì National Liberation Committee, who died in the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp.
At this moment in time, the Garelli counts 94 beds, a kitchen, several common areas and a winter room.
Today the hut is managed by Guido, with the help of his sons Simone and Mattia and Adriana.
