THE VIA DEL SALE - LIMONE/MONESI

The Upper Salt Road is a historic route between the Alps of Piedmont and Provence and the sea of Liguria, a link between Italy and France for lovers of trekking, mountain biking, motorcycling and off-road. Formerly used for commercial exchanges from one side to the other of raw materials (mainly salt, from which it derives its name: “Via del Sale”), in the last century the Alta Via del Sale or “Ex road military Limone – Monesi “He also underwent military interventions that arranged and expanded his path. Today the Alta Via del Sale is a magnificent historical, environmental, tourist and sport itinerary divided into 8 cross-border itineraries.
