FROM THE LANGHE HILLS TO SANREMO BY THE SALT ROAD
6 DAYS ON A E-BIKE FROM THE BAROLO HILLS TO THE RIVIERA DEI FIORI, CROSSING THE ALPS ALONG THE VIA DEL SALE
How do you choose between the sea, the Alps, and Barolo? Easy: you take everything!
This 6-day ebike trip offers a series of incredible views and experiences, from the Unesco heritage hills of the Langhe of Barolo and Barbaresco, where the sweetness of the landscape is combined with the flavors of good food, and cycling is almost an excuse to deserve the wine, the fassone beef, the cheeses, the tajarins, to the uncontaminated mountain of Limone Piemonte with the spectacular single tracks, to the undertaking of riding the mythical Via del Sale from Colle di Tenda to Sanremo, to end up riding along the marvelous Ligurian coast.
We will take this trip with the assistance of a guide in a minibus, which will take care of transporting baggage and transporting bicycles where necessary, and with Cycling Tour Guides of the Piedmont Region and Mountain Bike Guides, experts of the different paths and different areas to enjoy the best of the bike fun.

Day 1 - Barolo
The Langhe region reward travelers with the best landscapes in Piedmont, and visiting them by bicycle is a unique experience. To be “inside” the landscape of vineyards and hills, riding over paths and paved roads connecting the small villages is wonderful, but the uphills parts can make it a bit challenging. And this is where the e-bike can really help us. We will start from Alba and we will visit the birthplace of epic wines: we will ride up to the Grinzane Cavour castle, then we will go to Monforte, have lunch together and then we will move to Barolo, that can boast the most noble name among the small towns in the area and La Morra, with its majestic Lebanon cedar.

Day 2 - Barbaresco
Our ride, which will start from Alba, will take us up and down the hills to Barbaresco, with its imposing tower that stands on a rock along the meanders of the Tanaro river, and the deconsecrated church now home to the regional wine Barbaresco .After a short pause we will resume pedaling through vineyards and hills, to the medieval village of Neive, where we will have lunch, and then again to Treiso, and then return to Alba where we will end our day.

Day 3- Casterino
Departure from the center of Limone by cable car up to 1800 to then face the slopes of the Riserva Bianca, enjoy the spectacle of Lake Terrasole and reach the vua del Sale salt route at Baita 2000, visit the forts of Tenda and then easy dirt road in the French side to Casterino at the foot of the famous Valle delle Meraviglie, where we will get a hearty Italian meal at the Chamois d'Or. After which we will come back, with some variations, all the way to the Colle di Tenda where we will complete the visit of the Forts and then return to Limone on a spectacular single track.

Day 4 - La Via del Sale
The Via del Sale (The Salt Route), the mythical route between Piedmont, France and Liguria which was the main trade route in ancient times. Salt was one of the most important commodities. Cycling this route is a dream for many.
With an e-bike this fantastic adventure becomes possible for bikers with a minimum of experience, able to face mountain roads, paths and mule tracks. We will take on this route starting from the Colle di Tenda, the minibus will take us up to 2,000 meters at the starting point of the military road that will lead us to the military fortifications that characterize this border area. After a first coffee stop at the Don Barbera Refuge we will leave again towards Monesi, and we will have lunch in a fabulous mountain estate in the Navette Forest. After a few kilometers we will face the last climb towards Passo del Tanarello, the highest mountain in Liguria, and then begin the descent towards Triora. The final stretch will be a long descent (paved) that will take us to the sea of Sanremo. A real e-bike adventure!

(this stage is the most demanding of the journey, due to the distance to be traveled and the type of roads, the travelers who do not feel up to it can make the transfer comfortably by minibus together with the Tour Leader).
Day 5 - Sanremo
For our first day at the seaside we will go ... to the mountains! :)
We will climb to the Monte Nero, and from here we will then move up to San Romolo, where we will have lunch; after the break we will climb again towards Baiardo, and Monte Bignone, before starting a long descent along beautiful paths that will take us back to Sanremo.

Day 6 - The Flowers Cycle Path
We will end our week with a quiet trip on the wonderful bike path, 24km cycling along the sea from Ospedaletti to S.Lorenzo al Mare. A last climb to the Cipressa (mythical stage of the Milan-Sanremo race), and we will get back to Alba.

This trip consists of 6 bike tours and transfers and visits in our 9-seater minibus. The hiking trails are suitable for mountain bikes and e-bikes, and can beadapted to the technical level of
the participants. The recommended period of the year is from June to September, for the the amount of available light hours.
